Lars Plougmann The annual Booster Seat Blitz has arrived this year with the support of many organizations who support to educate parents as well as the whole community about injury prevention when it comes to car safety for children. Safe Kids Larimer County and a number of other local organizations have come together to help educate about car safety for kids. During the Booster Seat Blitz, the organization provides 65 free safety seats to families to help spread the message of how affordable booster seats really are.
This year, the main announcement made was related to Colorado's Child Passenger Safety Law which has now been in effect since August 1st this year. The law states that any child under the age of 8 will be required to use a baby booster seat for safety reason.

If the people at the car wash spend more time scrubbing your back seat than they do washing your car, then you need the Munchkin Auto Seat Protector. The protector fits beneath your child's car seat and catches everything that your child deposits: spilt juice, cookie crumbs, ice cream, bits of chocolate: it is all safely caught by the seat protector.
But that is not the only thing that is protected. The seat protector is made from an anti-slip material and it doubles to keep the car seat in place.
This non-slip mat is constructed of durable, easy-to-clean vinyl that protects upholstery from spills and indent damage, and also stabilizes the car seat to prevent dangerous car seat movement
And last but not least, it also protects your car seat from the indentations often left by car seats.
All around, this is a great product to provide you with lots of extra protection - right where you need it.

The Britax Boulevard 65 TSIP Convertible Car Seat is a serious car seat for the parents looking for safety and security. Like other car seats of its caliber, the Britax Boulevard can accommodate two weight categories based on which way the seat is facing. Front facing is suitable for children of about one year old weighing 20lbs up to 65 pounds. Rear facing, it accommodates children from 5-35 lbs. This car seat can work for you as your child grows.
What is truly special about this car seat, is its car-like safety features:
True Side Impact Protection for Advanced Security
Offering True Side Impact Protection, this seat delivers superior protection if you happen to face an unexpected side-impact accident. If such an event takes place, the solid head support and deep side walls work efficiently to distribute crash forces, shield the child from vehicle intrusion, contain the head and body, and keep the head, neck and spine aligned to limit injury.
This is a comfortable seat for your child and as well as the side impact protection, additional padding throughout provide extra comfort.
One thing to note is that this is a large car seat. If you only have a small amount of room in the back, you may want to try one out before buying to make sure it fits.

The Cosco Scenera Convertible Car Seat is a nice comfortable car seat for your child, and depending upon which way you face it, can accommodate two different weights. If you face it to the rear, it is suitable for children weighing 5-35lbs; if you face it forward then it is suitable for 22-40lb.
Equipped with the favored five point harness system, the harness has four different adjustable heights that are managed from the front. No trying to adjust the harness uncomfortably if you put a coat on, or take a layer of clothes off your baby. The three buckle positions also let you keep baby snug and safely strapped in.
As with the best car seats, this one comes with a removable seat pad that is easily washable. It also has a removable cup holder.
With safety always a key factor in choosing a car seat, you will be pleased to know that Consumer Reports rated this seat as excellent.

The Graco High Back Booster car seat is well loved by many parents and grandparents. Even the kids who sit in it seem to love it. Something about the cup holders and the different colors grabs the kids attention, while the adults love it because the kids love it, and also because the Graco High Back Booster car seat is easy to install, meets safety requirements, gets great reviews, and is not too expensive.
Kids in the age range of 3-5 years need to upgrade to something as they grow out of their first car seat. That is, unless you invested in an expensive model that is rated for children up to the age of 10years old.
The seat comes with side pillows, cup holders that tuck out of place when not in use, adjustable arm rests, and an adjustable head rest. If that isn't enough, you can even use the seat as a backless booster.
On the downside, there are some people who complain that the seat doesn't have enough padding and doesn't have the side pillows it is supposed to have. From what I can put together though, it seems more likely that these unfortunate buyers have received older models rather than the updated model discussed in the advertisements.
As always, if you are unhappy with a product, and you think it fails to live up to its claims, return it promptly.
